Bioness Acquires Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS) System

Bioness Medical has acquired the PoNS (Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator) system product line.

The addition expands the company’s capabilities into non-invasive central neuromodulation. It also reinforces Bioness’ position as a comprehensive provider of solutions for patients with gait and balance disorders resulting from neurological injury or disease.

Adding the PoNS system expands the company’s platform to include non-invasive neuromodulation delivered via the tongue, stimulating cranial nerve pathways to promote neuroplasticity and functional recovery. PoNS has been studied in patients with chronic neurological conditions, showing improvements in gait and balance when used as part of a supervised rehabilitation program.

The company’s established portfolio includes L300 Go, H200 Wireless, and the Vector Gait & Safety system. Together with PoNS, the technologies allow clinicians to address both peripheral motor activation and central neural network modulation in a unified rehabilitation approach.

This marks Bioness’ third acquisition since becoming and independent neurorehabilitation company after its acquisition by Accelmed Partners in December 2024.
